Message from Lioness Ebbay:
I passionately believe that my personal background allows me to be an especially qualified Estate Planner and an invaluable asset to my clients.
As a First Generation Filipino-American, I was raised in a culture that places great emphasis on the importance of family, friends, and the meaningful relationships in our lives. When I meet with clients who express that their true wealth lies in the relationships they have with their family and loved ones, I can completely identify with these values.
I am part of a blended family and I know that issues can get pretty sticky when we are dealing with contrary stepchildren, family drama, separate estates, etc. I can identify with clients who want to make sure that their children (outside of the marriage) are treated equitably and with respect. At the same time, I can also identify with clients who want to protect separate property that was acquired prior to marriage into a blended family.
Finally, I also played a very active role in my late mother-in-law’s life. I can identify with the hardships that caregivers and adult children experience with their aging parents. It’s not easy witnessing a parent deteriorate or require more assistance as they age. It’s also not easy dealing with a parent who is in denial of needing any help at all. When I meet with clients who express a decline in their parents’ health, I can genuinely empathize and identify with the difficulties and complex emotions involved when a child has to care for his or her aging parent.

Attorney Ebbay is the attorney who drafted my living trust. She was immensely helpful in providing me with the guidance I needed to assign the division of my estate amongst my children. Planning with Attorney Ebbay and the Collins Law Group has been comforting. They are very thorough, high touch treatment and are extremely sensitive to the nature of the decision making when it comes to planning. My parents have been clients of the Collins Law Group for over 15 years and when my father passed away three years ago, I began to get involved with their trust. Working with the firm has been pleasant because they are informative and thorough with their work. I can now see firsthand, the impact that this whole process has and the importance of sharing this line of thought process with my own children. When my father passed and the Collins Law Group stepped in, I was made aware of the provisions of the trust and how the trust should be handled and today when I signed my documents, I was presented with a video that explained my whole trust, article by article. This video will be helpful to entice my children to this line of thought process as well as their responsibilities for when I am no longer here.

Our experience at the Collins Law Group was a particularly good and efficient experience. The webinar offered by them was highly informative and it answered most if not all our estate planning questions. Prior to our planning, we were not too familiar with any estate planning, we had a general idea of what a trust was but did not know just how much you could tailor it. The staff provided my wife and I with excellent service. Attorney Ebbay answered all our questions and accommodated our work schedules for our appointments. Cameron, the Paralegal who assisted Attorney Ebbay with the signing of our documents was extremely helpful during the process. At the signing of our living trust, we were presented with a tailored video of our living trust. This video made the portfolio containing our trust less intimidating and easier to understand. The video went over what our trust covers and the responsibilities that our representatives will have upon our deaths. Overall, great experience with this firm and its staff.

More families should plan with this firm. I have been a client of the Collins Law Group since 2004 and since then, they have been offering free educational seminars to the community. For the past fifteen plus years that I have been a client at the firm I have consistently received newsletters from the firm with the most recent updates to the law. This is great because it is important to keep your trust up to date with the changing laws. I just came in to update all of my documents and Attorney Lioness took the time to answer all of my questions. She was very gracious in assisting me. I currently run a Civil Litigation firm and I get to see first-hand the things that people experience when they are going through probate and how costly it can be when you do not have a trust in place. It is best to invest in a professional experienced attorney to create your trust to avoid probate.
